Less Details

The AV industry has developed, tested, deployed and iterated hundreds of scenarios across geographies, form-factors and business models with mixed success. One critical factor of success has been a tightly-coupled data operations partner that supports AV companies not only during the technology development phases, but also flexible and competent to continuously support the changing needs through the entire lifecycle to deployment. This includes the ad-hoc and seemingly random loop-backs and iterations to pipe-clean and optimize the technology from any stage in the lifecycle to another stage to fit the needs of commercial deployments at scale.

Over the past 10 years iMerit has had the benefit of working with many of the major global AV companies through their development lifecycle by helping to create a robust data pipeline infrastructure, along with the tools, interfaces, partnerships, and expert services needed for each phase.

This presentation is a solution study of a journey to deploy an AV fleet globally, highlighting the major technologies used and refined in the process. This includes best practices and learnings within critical areas such as:

  • Pre-training data management and curation
  • Labeling and data preparation
  • Test scenario collection and generation
  • Model and application validation, testing, and certification
  • Production monitoring and anomaly triage
