This presentation addresses the technological advancements in DMS and OMS with a focus on the pivotal roles played by infrared cameras, time-of-flight (ToF) cameras, and radars. We explore the evolution of these technologies from their inception to their current state-of-the-art implementations, highlighting their advantages and drawbacks. To highlight the historical context and technological progress, it is necessary to understand how these systems contribute to automotive safety and user experience, as well as the roadmap of technology adoption.
In this session, you will:
Yulin Wang is a senior technology analyst at IDTechEx with a specialization in thermal management. Yulin has been working on autonomous vehicle related technologies. His focus is on sensory technologies, autonomous vehicles, driver monitoring systems (DMS) and occupant monitoring systems (OMS). Prior to joining IDTechEx, Yulin received his master's degree in robotics from Imperial College London and bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from University of Edinburgh.
