In this session, we will deep dive into:
Jagruti Tembe is an experienced leader in the field of automotive control with 12 years of industry experience in engine, brake, and suspension systems. She currently works as a Senior Systems Engineer at Goodyear, leading projects aimed at bringing tire intelligence solutions to production. Her responsibilities include system architecture, requirements management and project management. Her previous industry experience was with Hendrickson between 2021 and 2023 as a Systems Engineering Supervisor, leading a team working on wireless sensors and cloud-based algorithms to monitor fleet health. She worked at Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems between 2018 and 2021, developing a hardware-in-loop system and defining requirements for braking systems as a Staff Control Vehicle Engineer. She also worked at Cummins Inc. between 2011 and 2017 as a Systems and Control Technical Specialist, where she led control algorithm development from concept to validation. She received her master’s degree in engineering from Purdue University, specializing in control systems. She is presently working towards her second master’s in computer science at Case Western Reserve University.
The Pop in Your Job – What drives you? Why do you love your job?
In the automotive field, sensors and algorithms can hugely impact performance and safety. Whether it’s algorithms to improve emergency braking or sensors to monitor fleet health and safety or SDVs, each improvement, small or large is a huge benefit to society at large. At the same time, the trade-off between cost and performance makes many problems extremely hard to solve, especially in a reliable way. What drives me is the process of solving these challenging problems to bring to market technologies that are beneficial to people. This includes diverse topics like data analysis, software development and testing, whether under a vehicle or in an engine test cell. What I love about the job is that no day looks like the next and I get to grow my skill set almost constantly.
